Poem Percussion - Ida Ekblad

At an early stage, the Norwegian artist Ida Ekblad made her mark with
concept-based collage art that explored the byways of American youth
culture with humour and critical distance. Many people have pointed out
that there was a palpable shift in her artistic activity in the spring
of 2009. Pretty much from one exhibition to the next, the focus changed,
and most recently she has presented exhibitions with mainly formalist
sculptures and abstract paintings on large canvases.
On occasion of the exhibition Poem Percussion at the Bergen Kunsthall (September 10 to October 17, 2010) the museum has published a book of the same name, including samples of Ekblad's poetry, paintings, found object compositions, exhibition views, alongside texts on the artist's work.
Edited by Ida Ekblad, Steinar Sekkingstad, and Solveig Øvstebø. Texts by Sarah McCrory, Caoimhín Mac Giolla Léith, and Ida Ekblad. Designed by Anders Nordby.
